EDUCATION:
B.S. Degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration - Brigham Young University -1977. Graduate of Utah Police Officer and Standards -1977. EXPERIENCE: Served the City of Provo, UT. From 1978 to 2002 as a Police Officer, Detective Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, SWAT team member, Mt. Rescue team member, Hostage Negotiations team leader, Administrative Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Special Investigations Lieutenant, Captain of Patrol, Assistant Chief of Police. DURING CAREER: Investigated and supervised several missing persons, sexual crimes, crimes against persons, and death/homicide investigations. Have served on numerous boards and committees during career and have taught at the Law Enforcement Academy at Utah Valley University and a Criminal Investigations class at Provo College. |

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the operations of the Provo City Police Department with a workforce of 150 full-time and 50 part-time employees. Responsible for the safety of 113,000 residents, work closely with residents, business leaders, politicians, employees, and other city department heads in meeting the needs in all aspects of public safety.
TRAINING:
During the 32+ years of Law Enforcement Service: Received advanced training in Criminal investigations, as well as attending several classes and seminars in Homicide/Death investigations and missing persons.
