David CamachoDavid serves in the Homicide Division of the El Paso Police Department. His assignment in Homicide began in October of 2014 as a Detective, and has since promoted to Sergeant. David remained at the Homicide Division as a supervisor. He actively participates in interviews with known violent suspects, witnesses who may have information about the crime or facts surrounding the crime. Before being selected to serve on the Homicide Division, he served in the Robbery and Burglary investigative unit, Criminal Investigations Division.

He also fulfills the duties of a Task Force Officer with the Federal Bureau of Investigations. He is assigned to the violent crimes squad in the El Paso sector. As an FBI TFO he is tasked with investigating violent crimes, those that cross state and international lines.
Additionally, David serves as the AMBER Alert coordinator for Region 7 in the State of Texas. As an alert coordinator, he is responsible for assisting State and local officials with developing and enhancing AMBER Alert plans, missing person’s data bank entries, and promoting statewide and regional coordination. The coordination facilitates the AMBER Alert network development, and supports the development of AMBER Alert plans.
David is a Master Peace Officer in the State of Texas, he earned a state certification with the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement as a primary instructor, firearms instructor, and served as a member of the Special Weapon and Tactics team for the El Paso Police Department. David is a Park University graduate, B.S in Criminal Justice. He is actively involved in teaching; basic investigations, supervisor investigative classes, search and seizure, along with interview and interrogation tactics.
Before becoming a Police Officer David served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable.) While in the Marine Corps he developed and exercised leadership and mentoring skills with junior Marines. He earned the rank of Sergeant of Marines and while his contract was active he was deployed to the Middle East for a combined total of 15 months in two tours. Through his experience and knowledge being in the Military and as a Police Officer, he has become familiar with numerous methods to be an effective element within a team scenario and give instruction over a special task. David has attended the Sergeant Majors Academy Leadership Course, the El Paso Police Departments Leadership Concepts, and the Street Survival Course hosted by Caliber Express and Police One.
