Elizabeth J. LedererElizabeth (Lis) served for 40 years in the New York County District Attorney’s Office in New York, NY. During her tenure, she held many positions in many units and bureaus—line assistant, senior felony assistant, deputy bureau chief, bureau chief, senior trial counsel, and more. Liz worked in the sex crimes unit, prosecuted homicide cases, tried hundreds of cases and supervised many attorneys. She also taught Trial Practice at Columbia Law School for over 20 years.
As a prosecutor, Liz spent her last 8 years in the Forensic Science/Cold Case Unit. Without doubt, this was the most gratifying and most rewarding experience of her career. There will never be a greater feeling than the gratitude of the surviving families who found that their loved ones had not been forgotten by law enforcement, and the peace and closure they received knowing what had become of their relative/friend/child. She is excited to continue this work in whatever capacity possible with the inimitable Cold Case Foundation. |
