Peter HyattPeter Hyatt, LSW, served with the Cold Case Foundation providing valuable insight, training opportunities, and access to a network of other professionals. His service was a massive value add to our mission. He served as a Statement Analyst and instructor who taught deception detection and analytical interviewing to law enforcement and private corporations in the United States and Europe.
Formerly an investigator for DHHS, Maine, (2002-2012) he authored the State's Agency Investigator Training manual and provided training. |
He was interviewed extensively on radio and television, including the nationally televised program, "Crime Watch Daily", "Taken Too Soon: The Katelyn Markham Story" documentary, and the "Disappearance of Madeline McCann."
He held law enforcement seminars including HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, 2016 to 2024), as well as the author of Complete Statement Analysis and Advanced Analysis courses, with students from the U.S., Canada, Europe, S Africa, Russia, New Zealand and Australia.
He was a guest lectured at the FBI National Academy as well as spoken to business conventions on detecting deception and linguistic profiling in employment analysis.
He assisted law enforcement in investigations, including cold case analysis. He led an international team of experts in monthly analysis training, including requests from various law enforcement agencies.
Peter faced his cancer diagnosis and treatment with bravery, trusting in the Lord at each step along the way, and pointing others to the hope of Christ until the very end.
Peter's guidence, insight, and experience will be missed at the Cold Case Foundation.
Peter is survived by his wife and best friend, Heather, his former wife, Ann, his six children who were his pride: Peter, Joseph, Jonathan, Sarah, Christina, and Sean, and his eleven grandchildren who were his joy: Ethan, Julianna, Natalee, Olivia, Noah, Holden, Harrison, Archie, Addison, Calvin, and Lucy, as well as sons and daughters in law, siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends.
