Stacy GallantStacy became a member to the Toronto Police Service in 1989. He started his career working uniform patrol, community patrol, Criminal Investigative Bureau, Asian Crime Special Task Force, and the Street Crime Unit. He spent 9 years at a local police division before being transferred to the Detective Services, Special Investigations Services concentrating on organized crime groups with ties to major cargo and automobile theft.

In 2001, he was appointed to the newly formed Guns and Gangs Task Force as a Detective supervising a street team. In 2005, he was transferred to the Toronto Police Service Homicide Squad where he conducted numerous high profile investigations involving organized crime and street level homicides.
In 2010, Stacy assumed the position Officer in Charge of both the Major Case Management office and the ViCLAS office in the Toronto Police Service. Taking control of these offices he identified and made operational changes to increase efficiency, productivity and overall moral of the offices. He was responsible for ensuring a high quality of work in a difficult work environment of complex homicide and sexual assault investigative material.
In 2011, Stacy additionally took over the Toronto Police Service Cold Case Unit and over 600 cold cases. He overhauled the cold case unit and started to apply new innovative investigative techniques utilizing existing DNA in unsolved major cases and worked to identify DNA on items of evidence previously rejected by the DNA lab He engaged traditional media and social media to profile cold cases brining in new leads and information.
Stacy prior to his retirement was responsible for the development and operations of two new units within the Toronto Police Service, the Missing Persons Unit, and Forensic Video Analysis Unit. He lectured to internal Toronto Police Service units, external partners and schools on various aspects homicide investigations and cold case investigations. He has a strong media presence and if often called upon for comment or discussion on high profile cases or incidents.
Stacy retired from his post as a Detective Sergeant at the end of 2020, and joined the GardaWorld security company as the Director of Consulting Services, Investigations and Executive Protection for Ontario, Canada.
