years either conducting or supervising thousands of investigations involving caretaker (alleged abuser) physical and sexual abuse perpetrated against persons with disabilities (alleged victims) who are between the ages of 18 and 59. Stephen has also been involved in numerous medicolegal death investigations and workplace violence investigations either as an assigning manager, a supervisor, or as an investigator. In his current role as an Investigations Manager, Stephen has also been assigned the responsibility of being the criminal investigations liaison with the Massachusetts State Police Detective Units, several local police departments, and several District Attorney Offices throughout the Commonwealth.

Over the years, Stephen has received additional education/training through the Massachusetts District Attorneys Association, Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, the Massachusetts State Police Behavioral Science Unit, the Massachusetts State Police Academy, the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the Massachusetts Department of Criminal Justice Information Services, the Massachusetts Department of Correction-Treatment for the Sexually Dangerous Persons, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Specifically, some of the investigative training Stephen has received over the years includes but is not limited to seminars on domestic violence, sexually violent offenders (R. Hazelwood & G. Cooper), criminal investigative analysis (G. Cooper & Mass. State Police), sex offender typologies (Mass. State Police), sexual assault certification (Mass. State Police), investigative methods (Mass. State Police), interviewing techniques/report writing (Mass. Department of Corrections), and forensic wound/forensic-psychological autopsy investigations (Mass. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner).
