Steve JohnsonSteven Johnson is a 28-year police veteran with 23 years as a detective, including 7 years on the elite Major Incident Response Team. Steve was awarded the Medal of Excellence for his expertise in Interview and Interrogation. During his career, Steve obtained certifications as a Certified Voice Stress Analyst (lie detection), Certified Statement Analyst, and Certified Forensic Handwriting Analyst. Johnson is a Certified Statement Analyst, considered an expert in identifying deception, content, and psychological profile in verbal and written statements. Steve continues to work, train, and maintain proficiency with some of the best statement analysts in the country.

Steve is also a Certified Forensic Handwriting Analyst, proficient in detecting deception, mental illness, drug use, sex abuse, violence & perpetrator potential, personality traits and more. Steve is a member of the International Association of Handwriting Analysts, and the American Society of Professional Graphologists.
During his law enforcement career, Steve found that Statement Profiling provided more information than either the polygraph or the CVSA could provide. Profiling what people said or wrote, provided the answers investigators traditionally sought through their
interviews and investigations. It was a paradigm shift from the traditional investigative interviewing methods still used by most investigators today. This improved method became the focus of Steve’s law enforcement career. He frequently consulted for investigators in and outside his own agency and has been teaching investigators these techniques for the past ten years. The effectiveness of these techniques has been proven in hundreds of investigations and interviews.
